Having worked with individuals in executive coaching sessions, corporate seminars and outplacement programs since 1990, I have seen so many talented people who were in danger of dropping off the radar screen of opportunity. This had nothing to do with their credentials, but rather with their awkwardness or denial of the value of self-promotion. When I first began my business, my client base was family and friends, only. In other words, I had no business. To build what became The Usheroff Institute, Inc., I had to step out of my comfort zone, understand the value that I could bring to people, and take a leap of faith to promote my services in the marketplace. It’s not my intention to suggest that this was easy, that there were no trials and tribulations; they still exist today. Yet I believe you must give yourself permission to stand out from the pack.
